If the Pergamon Editor becomes slow or unresponsive, behaves unexpectedly, or fails to save your work, the issue is often related to browser state, caching, or network conditions. Symptoms may include unresponsive buttons, incorrect styling being applied, layout issues, lack of saves, temporary data loss, or overall unstable behavior. The following actions help resolve the most common causes of these issues.
Perform a hard refresh
A hard refresh clears cached files and forces your browser to reload the Editor with fresh resources.
macOS: Press Command (⌘) + Shift + R
Windows: Press Ctrl + F5
This is the quickest fix for UI issues or unresponsive toolbar controls.
Close and reopen the Editor
If the Editor remains unresponsive after a hard refresh:
Save your work (if possible).
Close the browser tab.
Reopen the document in a new tab or window.
This resets the active editing session, which may resolve temporary loading problems.
Disconnect from VPN (if applicable)
VPN connections may cause:
Slow or incomplete loading of Editor components
Missing styling or assets
Delays in saving or switching modes
Disconnect from your VPN and reload the Editor to rule out network interference.
Restart your browser
Close all browser windows and reopen the browser to clear temporary memory issues. Using multiple browser extensions or having many tabs open can also impact Editor performance.
Switch browsers or update your browser
The Pergamon Editor is optimized for modern browsers. For best results:
Use the latest stable version of Google Chrome or a supported Chromium browser such as Microsoft Edge.
Check your network connection
Unstable or slow internet connections may cause saving delays or unresponsive UI states. Ensure you have a stable connection and retry your action.
When to contact Support
If the issue continues after trying the actions above, you may need assistance from the Pergamon Support team. Before reaching out, please note that some editor issues can self-resolve, especially those caused by temporary browser states or network interruptions. If possible, wait a short while and try reloading the Editor again.
If the problem persists, contact support@pergamon-labs.com.
