Overview
The Assets Library is a centralized space in Pergamon for viewing and managing all assets used across documents. It allows authors and users to browse, search, inspect, and download both document-specific (local) and system-wide (global or reusable) assets in one place.
Key features
The Assets Library provides:
- Centralized access to all assets - both user-uploaded (local) and system-managed (global).
- Search and tag filters to quickly locate specific content.
- View modes including grid (visual) and list (structured) layout.
- Metadata visibility to help identify asset source, type, and usage.
- Download options for reuse outside the editor.
Asset types
Assets are classified into two types:
- Local assets
Uploaded through the Quick Action menu in the editor. These assets are linked to a specific document and can be renamed or updated by the user. - Global assets
Pre-uploaded made available for consistent use across documents. These assets cannot be modified or renamed by users. - Workspace assets
Assets uploaded by workspace users and reusable within the workspace.
How assets are added to the Assets Library
Assets appear in the Assets Library automatically after they are added through either of the following methods:
- Local assets are uploaded while editing a document in the editor.
- Global assets are provisioned and pre-uploaded by Pergamon's Knowledge Engineering team to ensure system-wide consistency.
- Workspace assets are uploaded by workspace users.
Available actions in the Assets Library
Within the Assets Library, users can:
- Filter assets by type (all, global, local or workspace)
- Search assets by name or tags
- Toggle between List View and Grid View
- Preview asset metadata in a side panel or modal
- Download assets to their local device
