Use the Assets Library to view detailed metadata for each asset. Metadata includes the asset's name, ID, type, source, version, and comments. This information helps identify assets accurately and determine their origin and usage constraints.
View asset attributes in list view
To view asset attributes:
- Go to Assets Library.
- Switch to List View.
- Locate the asset from the list.
- Click the Asset ID to open the Attributes view.
The Attributes view displays:
- Name – Editable for local assets or assets uploaded by you as an author.
- Version: The current version of the asset.
- Asset ID – System-generated unique identifier
- Type – Global or Local
- Source – Document ID where the asset was added (local assets only)
- Comments – Optional notes (editable for local assets)
View asset attributes in grid view
To view attributes in Grid view:
- Click the Grid View icon on the top right.
- Select an asset tile.
- The attributes panel appears on the right.
Edit asset attributes
You can edit the following attributes for local assets directly from the Attributes view:
Name of the asset
Comments associated with the asset
To edit attributes:
- Click the Asset ID to open the modal.
- Update the Name and Comments fields as needed.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Only document authors and users with full access permissions can edit asset attributes. Global assets are read-only. Name and Comments fields cannot be edited.
