TL;DR: Utilize the Rearrange Mode within Pergamon's editor to efficiently reorder Content Artifacts, including sections, tables, and Global Content, without the need for copy-pasting. This feature streamlines the organization process of document components.
How to reorder content in the editor
Pergamon's document editor allows you to reorder content such as Content Artifacts, Global Content, and tables without copy-pasting using the Rearrange mode.
Access rearrange mode
- Select the Editor tab in your document.
- Select a content block in the document.
- Click the Rearrange button to enter Rearrange mode.
- Click the X badge on the button to exit Rearrange mode.
Use checkboxes for content selection
- Use checkboxes to select items in the content panel.
- Click a heading's checkbox to select the entire section beneath it. Checkboxes for items within this section will be locked and unselectable individually.
- Add a normal item to a run of siblings by clicking its checkbox.
Relocate content with cut and copy
- Once content is selected, click the Cut button to move the content.
- Click the Copy button to duplicate the content.
- After cutting or copying, insertion slots appear marked by + symbols between items. Click an insertion slot to place the content.
Handle locks and view previews
Some items may be marked with a lock icon, indicating restrictions such as being part of Global Content or being read-only. These items cannot be reordered.
For a quick overview of content without opening it, hover over the eye icon beside each item to preview a single line of content.
Undo and redo actions
All rearrangement operations are registered in the document's undo/redo history, allowing you to easily undo changes if needed.
Exit and manually save documents
When you try to exit with unsaved changes, a confirmation dialog appears. To avoid losing progress, always click Save to secure your work.
