Apply character style

Character styles control the formatting of selected text. You can apply them using the toolbar drop-down, the Quick Action menu, toolbar buttons, or keyboard shortcuts.

Select the text inside the content block.
Apply the character style using any supported method.

Apply to entire content block

If you want the style applied to the whole block, ensure the cursor is not placed inside the text.
Select the content checkbox, then choose the desired character style.

Important: You can apply only one character style at a time. It is not possible to combine multiple character styles on the same text fragment. Applying a new character style will replace the previously applied one.

Available character styles

Available styles may vary depending on your domain configuration. However, the following styles are always provided:

Bold
Italic
Underline
Strikethrough
Superscript
Subscript
No break
Highlight

Clean character styles

Select the text inside the content block.
Click Clean Character Style on the toolbar.

Clean the entire content block

Leave the cursor outside the text, select the content block, and click Clean Character Style from the main toolbar to remove formatting from the entire block.

Paragraph-level character style restriction. You can now apply or clear character styles only within a single paragraph. If multiple paragraphs are selected, Pergamon prevents the action and shows an error message.
