Insert special characters and symbols

Special characters in the Pergamon Editor are symbols that can be inserted into content to enhance formatting and provide additional typographical options.

Insert special characters

1. Place the cursor in the content block where you want to insert the special character.
2. Click on the Special Characters drop-down icon in the Editor Toolbar. 
3. From the dropdown menu, select the category of the special character you need, such as Spaces, Break Characters, Hyphens & Dashes, or Custom.
4. Choose the desired special character from the expanded list.

  Example: Keeping a phrase together on one line

If you need a phrase such as a measurement or product name to stay on a single line without breaking, use a Nonbreaking Space between each word in the phrase.           

For example, to keep 1500 ml/1.5 L marking together:                                                                                              

1. Place the cursor between two words in the phrase (e.g. between ml/1.5 and L)
2. Delete the existing regular space                                                                                         
3. Click the Special Characters icon in the Editor Toolbar > Spaces > Nonbreaking space
4. Repeat for each space within the phrase                                                                                   

  The entire phrase will now wrap as a single unit and will never split across two lines.                                      

  ▎ Tip: Use Nonbreaking Space for measurements, product codes, or any term that must stay visually intact on one line.
