Release highlights: Pergamon 3.6.0 introduces document version control in the New UI and extended search functionality with search by Content ID. This release also includes improvements to localization workflows, PDF preview performance, and document management.
Pergamon 3.6.0 focuses on improving traceability, control, and consistency across document workflows. With the introduction of version control and enhanced search capabilities, this release strengthens content governance while refining localization, preview, and management processes.
Note: Some release note items reference the Old UI. This interface is used for knowledge engineering and configuration tasks that support the New UI and is not part of the standard workspace experience for most users.
New features
Document version control
Version control is now available for documents.
Create new versions of a document.

Choose whether to increase the version as:
Minor (for example: 1.0 → 1.1)
Major (for example: 1.0 → 2.0)
Add comments to each version for easier tracking and navigation.
View previous versions in read-only mode.
Restore a previous version as a new version if needed.

Updating existing Target Documents
Users now can update target documents to reflect changes that were made in the source document. This significantly improves the typesetting process.
When localizing a document:
You can select the language of an already existing target document.

Choose to:
Overwrite an existing version, or
Create a new version of the localized document.
This ensures better control and traceability across translated content.
Search by Content ID
Search functionality has been extended to support searching by Content ID.
This allows faster identification and issue resolution from layout compatibility errors.

Improvements
Translation Project status updates
Adjusted statuses for non-TMS translation workflows:
New initial status: Not started
When using AI flow: Sent to AI
When exporting XLIFF for manual handling: In progress
New status icons have been introduced in the New UI to ensure visual consistency across the entire translation process.
PDF preview enhancements
Refactored and improved PDF preview performance in the Document Editor.
Document management and usability improvements
Ability to change the author of a document (Old UI).
Subscription owners can now re-enable accounts by resetting the password.
Prevented duplication of documents that are in Trash.
Document assembly process state is preserved after re-login.
Adjusted status names in Old UI to align with New UI terminology.
Adjusted timestamps for improved accuracy.
Fixed issue where duplicated or localized documents inherited lock state.
Reusable content safeguards (Old UI)
Added a flag to prevent conversion or removal of reusable content.
This ensures:
Reusable content remains centrally managed.
Automatic updates are preserved.
Users cannot unintentionally convert reusable content into local content, which would break update inheritance.
Further enhancements to formatting flexibility for reusable content are planned for a future release.
System and metadata improvements
Updated
settings.jsonto include missing publication metadata.Added a new parameter to track Blueprint Origin for both Documents and Blueprints.
Bug fixes
Fixed tooltip incorrectly displaying localization information in “More Actions”.
Fixed disabled buttons in table edit mode.
Resolved issues related to document lock inheritance during duplication or localization.

After the release is deployed, a blue Refresh button will appear at the bottom of the login page (or the current page). To fetch the new update, click Refresh.

- To verify you got the latest version:
- Click on the user avatar at the top right and verify the new version 3.6.0 is displayed:
