Use the Find and replace text feature in Document Editor to quickly locate words or phrases and replace them throughout your document.
Find and replace text
To find and replace text:

Open your document in Document Editor.
Document Editor open with a toolbar and a search box in the upper right labeled “Search” -
At the upper right of the editor, above the formatting toolbar, click in the Search field (or press Cmd+F on Mac, Ctrl+F on Windows). Press the shortcut again to close the search field.
The search field expands to show the match count, navigation arrows, replace icon, a settings (gear) icon, and a close button.
Note: The text you enter is remembered even after you close the search field.
Type the word or phrase you want to find.
The search field displays the total number of matches.
All matches are highlighted in the document.

You can move between matches using the arrow buttons in the search field or by pressing Return (Enter).

In the search field, click the replace icon (next to the right arrow). The Replace with field appears below the search field.
Enter the new term in the Replace with field.

Select the All matches checkbox to replace every instance or leave it unchecked to replace one match at a time.

Select Replace.
If All matches is selected, all occurrences update at once. If not, only the current match updates.
Case matching
In the search field, click the gear icon.
Select Match case to only find text with the same capitalization.
Find and replace text in global content blocks
Find and replace includes both local and global (reusable) content blocks by default. If you want to exclude global content blocks from search and replace:
In the search field, click the gear icon.
Turn off Include reusable.
Troubleshooting

No matches found
Cause: The text does not exist in the document or Match case is enabled.
Fix: Check spelling and disable Match case.

Replace feature skipped some text
Cause: The text is in a global (reusable) content block.
Fix: Enable Include reusable in the settings (gear icon).
