You can control who has access to a Publication by configuring Access Control settings. This guide explains how to set and manage permissions for a Publication.
To manage Access Control and Permissions:
1. Navigate to the Publication:
- Log in to Pergamon and go to the Publications Hub by clicking Publications in the left navigation sidebar.
- Locate and click on the Publication you want to manage.
- Click Edit.
2. Access Publication Attributes:
- In the Publication Attributes page, click on Access Control.
3. Configure Access Control:
- Under the Access Control section, you’ll see the following options:
- General Access: Set the overall access level for the Publication (e.g., Full access, View only).
- Department Access: Specify access levels for specific departments (e.g., Full access, View only).
- Users: Assign individual users and define their permissions (e.g., Full access, View only).
4. Save Changes:
- After configuring the access settings, click Save to apply the changes.
Tips for Managing Access Control
- Use General Access for broad permissions and Department/User Access for more granular control.
- Regularly review and update access permissions to ensure security and compliance.
- Ensure you have the necessary administrative permissions to modify access settings.
Publication Access Control Inheritance

Publications Hub
If a Publication is created using the Publications Hub (via the + Add New Pub button), its access control is set to Restricted by default - General Access and Departmental Access. -
Documents Hub
If a Publication is created from the Documents Hub, it inherits the access control settings from the selected Document. -
Automated Document Assembly (ADA)
If a Publication is created using ADA, it inherits the access controls defined in the associated Blueprint.
