First Line Left Indent

What is First Line Left Indent?

This option indents only the first line of a paragraph, leaving subsequent lines aligned with the left margin. It is commonly used to mark the beginning of new paragraphs in body text.

Why Use This Option?

• To visually indicate the start of a new paragraph.
• To create a clean, organized appearance in body text.

Units of Measurement

• Base: Default first-line indent.

• Custom Values: Specify the relative percentage value to be applied for first line first indent. The value is calculated based on the page or column width where text is inserted. For example, if the page width is 100 mm and the value is set to 10%, the first line first indent is set to 10 mm.

Set First Line Left Indent

1. Select the paragraph you want to adjust.
2. Click on the layout switcher to display the Content Attributes Panel.
3. Under the Paragraph Formatting section, locate the First Line Left Indent field.
4. Choose one of the following:
   • Base: Keeps the default first-line indent.
   • Custom Value: Enter the indent value in percentage %.
   • Use the stepper (up/down arrows) for incremental adjustments.
5. Click Save to apply the changes.
