What is Start Paragraph?
Note: The Start Paragraph setting affects more than just paragraphs - it also controls where tables and table rows begin in your layout.
The Start Paragraph option determines where new content (including paragraphs, tables, or table rows) begins in the document. This setting provides layout flexibility, ensuring content starts in specific locations—such as on a new page, in the next column, or on the next odd page. It is particularly useful for documents with complex layouts or specific formatting requirements, such as reports or manuals.
Info: In this article, "content" refers to any of these document elements: paragraphs, tables, or table rows.
Why use Start Paragraph?
- Improve Layout Control: Define where content should begin to align with the document's design.
- Structure Documents: Use consistent formatting for content that needs to appear in specific locations.
- Enhance Readability: Ensure headings stay with their paragraphs and table rows remain intact across page/column breaks by preventing orphaned content
